Olympic Gold Medalist

Lanny Bassham was born on January 2, 1947 in a small Texas town. He wasn’t the best athlete in school growing up but had Olympic size dreams. His dream and his dedication to training lead him to the Olympic Games. He was capable of shooting winning scores and knew that the Gold Medal was in his reach.

In 1972, at the Munich Germany Olympic Games, Lanny Bassham failed in his attempt to win the Gold Medal in International Rifle Shooting. He had a mental failure resulting in his taking the Silver instead. Frustrated, Lanny wanted to take a course in controlling the mind under pressure. After looking for such a seminar and not finding satisfaction, Bassham began to interview Olympic Gold Medalists to discover what they were doing differently to win.

What he discovered was truly remarkable. Bassham created a system of mental control he calls Mental Management®. Within the next six years Lanny Bassham dominated his sport, winning 22 world individual and team titles, setting 4 world records and winning the coveted Olympic Gold Medal in Montreal in 1976.

For the past 33 years, Lanny has been teaching Mental Management® to Olympians, business owners, Fortune 500 Corporations and the elite of sport and business community. Lanny Bassham is recognized as a teacher of the world's best in the area of mental preparation for sport and business. His clients include the PGA and PGA tour players, Miss America finalists, Miss USA winners, World and Olympic Champions, Fortune 500 companies, The United States Secret Service, The US Navy SEALS, The United States Army Marksmanship Unit, The FBI and many more.

Sales Improvement Professionals, Inc.

Upon graduating from the University of Missouri at Rolla, Jim started his career with the Trane Co. After several sales positions, he moved to Phoenix, where as manager of Trane’s residential division, he enjoyed a 50% market penetration. Jim’s background includes positions as President of one of the oldest and largest air conditioning companies in Arizona, residential start-up specialist for the Carrier Corporation, and an officer in a Carrier owned service agency.

For nine years Jim served as Vice President of a 23 year old residential and light commercial service and replacement company, running their sales and installation division. During his time there, his division grew 300%, replacement sales topped $3,000,000 per year, and company closure rate exceeded 60%.  Even though Jim’s price was always 10% to 50% higher than his competition, his closing ratio on replacement systems averaged a phenomenal 80%!  Over 60% of the company sales leads came from referrals of some kind, he believes in networking and shares that passion and ways to accomplish that in his sessions today.

Jim retired from the contracting business in 1999 when he formed his own training company, Sales Improvement Professionals, dedicated to bringing his real-world experience to help enhance your sales and marketing efforts.  He enjoys training sales, technical, and management team members using tools, not tricks to improve sales and profits.  Jim believes in the individual (one size does not fit all), and works with each person in the session to improve their productivity in all areas of their lives.  In 2007 Jim started doing training and consulting work in the solar industry, and has done approximately 25 training sessions per year in that industry alone.

When not working, Jim enjoys traveling with his wife May, who is also his business partner.  They moved the business to Colorado in 2005, following their grandson McKade, who is a genius!  Jon and Mike, Jim’s two sons are also involved in SIP Inc.

kengoodrichKen Goodrich

Entrepreneur, PHC Contractor

Ken Goodrich and his team may be the most successful PHC service and replacement contractors in the country.  From his starting point as a tech on a truck, Ken assembled an all-star team, built and sold, not one or two or three, but SIX different companies to consolidators.  No one else has done that.  If contracting were a sport, Ken would be contracting’s Lance Armstrong.

Ken keynotes the New Orleans Roundtable, where he shares the incredible wild ride he started after he sold his last business to ARS.  The new owners at ARS brought Ken and his management team on board and commissioned them to grow the Southwest Division.  They did.

In a few short years, Ken and his team took the business to more than $100,000,000, serving 10 major markets with over 250 service trucks.  Some of the growth was through acquisition, but most was organic.  In 2009, while many contractors struggled across the country, especially in the markets Ken served, Ken’s team grew their operations over 100% year-over-year.   That’s right.  They doubled their size in 2009.  And they did it with high double digit profitability!

In his keynote, Ken will share his story.  He will tell you how he became fabulously wealthy in the plumbing and air conditioning industry.  Ken says it’s not magic. It’s about the team and about a system.  He will share how he built the team and explain the business systems and methods they developed to take run-of-the-mill plumbing and HVAC companies to unprecedented levels of sales and profitability, as well as share his experiences and viewpoints of industry consolidation.  While Ken may have accomplished more than most in the PHC service and replacement business, he says that anyone can match his accomplishments with a few simple strategies.

Ken is a native of the Las Vegas Valley, and has resided in Summerlin, Nevada for the past 8 years.
