About John Illes

John Illes is Managing Director of the Las Vegas office of Merit Harbor Group which provides investment banking services to lower middle market companies. Mr. Illes helps clients identify value creators that enhance their market positions making them more attractive merger and acquisition candidates while leading them through the in-market process.

Mr. Illes specializes in consumer focused businesses, manufacturing, and government services and defense sectors.  He also has experience in the construction sector having grown up working in his family’s commercial construction business.

Previously, Mr. Illes held senior executive positions in the United States and Europe with investor-owned companies of all sizes. He has been VP of Marketing & Operations, Chief Operating Officer and President.

Mr. Illes’ operational experience offers clients a unique and pragmatic perspective to the M&A process that enables him to build a valuable bridge between successful owner-operated businesses and institutional/strategic business investors.

Mr. Illes earned his MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University.  He is a Six Sigma Green Belt and is a Certified Merger and Acquisition Advisor with Series 24, 62, 63 and 79 licenses. He is a member of the Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors (AM&AA) and on the Board of the Nevada/Utah chapter of the AM&AA. 

About Bob Goldsmith

Bob Goldsmith is President and CEO, as well as a founding partner, of BCMS Corporate North America.  He has been advising entrepreneurs, family businesses, and other organizations on issues such as sale, succession and exit planning, divestiture, corporate growth, international expansion, and general strategy since 2002.

Prior to BCMS, in addition to advising clients, Bob organized and was a significant equity stake holder in the North American license of one of the leading European consumer products groups between 2002 and 2005.  He served as EVP and Chief Operating Officer of $300 million revenue US apparel company Elie Tahari from 2000 until 2002.  Bob was a Country Manager and Member of the Corporate Strategy Group for ContiGroup Companies working on commodity marketing, finance and industrial M&A transactions between 1992 and 1999.  Bob began his career at the Council on Foreign Relations where he spent four years focusing on international intelligence, trade, and security issues for the currently-serving Chairman of the National Intelligence Council in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

A graduate of Hamilton College, Bob has an MBA in Finance and International Business from the Stern School of Business at New York University and has completed the Program on Negotiation for Senior Executives at Harvard Law School. He is registered with FINRA as a General Securities Principal (Series 7, 24, 99, and 63) and a Limited Representative – Investment Banking (Series 79).

About Peter Holton

Prior to joining Caber Hill, Mr. Holton was the Managing Director at Bridge Ventures in Chicago. While growing up in Milwaukee, WI Peter worked for the family painting company for over 10 years as a laborer, Forman and supervisor. Mr. Holton also spent nearly a decade at the largest paving/concrete company in the country called Rose Paving Co. where he held both regional and national positions in a variety of roles including business development, operations, sales and mergers and acquisitions. He has extensive experience in business development, operations, and sales management, and is an expert at negotiating complex contracts and developing successful business strategies.


Hr. Holton helps business owners with exit planning, valuation of their business, consulting and/or buying or selling business across the country within painting, janitorial, HVAC, roofing, landscaping and electrical contractors along with the supply chains that feed each contractor related industry.


Peter is a proud consultative member of BSCAI, NALP, WLCA, ILCA and has given several seminars for facility service businesses owners around the country within BSCAI, TNLA, ISSA, NALP, GGIA, IPLCA ONLA and many more.  Mr. Holton has also written numerous articles for magazines around the country within the facility service industry and performed double digit webinars for facility service companies as well. He received a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University and Bachelor of Arts in Communication from University of Dayton.
