Understanding the Minds of Technicians: HVAC Surgeons on Call
11:00AM | Oct 25

The minds of HVAC technicians can be compared to the minds of surgeons. Both like to figure out the problem, go in and take care of it, and present the bill. What they do not value is the need to have a "bedside manner". In other words, they both dislike having to explain the proposed job in detail. Neither is interested in interpreting drawings of the person's "existing equipment", or explaining where the problem might be found, or what the proposed job will entail. They also dislike having to keep the individual undergoing the "surgery" informed of the job's progress. But, these steps are essential to increase the "patients" trust and comfort, both for surgeons and technicians. This presentation combines both science and common sense practices that can be immediately implemented. Join us as we explore how the mind works, how a brain change begins with a mind-set change, and how to work with "HVAC surgeons."
