Frequently Asked Questions

These are a few of the questions we've received about our program...

Can we send you a list of non-negotiable items so you can weed out unqualified applicants?

Yes, that’s part of the application process. You tell us the deal-breaker questions you want each applicant to answer.

Will applicants come to our place to take the tests?

They can. The test can be given in any location. We don’t have testing centers.

Does Fast Track conduct the initial screening interviews?

No, we don’t do interviews, but your Application Tracking System includes a telephone interview script and a score sheet you can use when conducting phone interviews.

What happens if you don't find any suitable applicants or we don't like any of the folks you send?

We’ll keep working to fill your position until we find a recruit you want to hire.

Is the total investment “per person”?

The total investment is for 1 project. That project should result in 1 recruit who is hired and completes our 24-month training program.

Should a recruit drop out during the training, we would find a replacement (an additional set-up fee is required if the recruit has completed technical training – see below).

Are there any guarantees associated with the program or the folks that come through it?

Yes. Your agreement requires a set-up fee and 24 monthly payments (starting 30 days after sign-up). During those 24 months, if a recruit leaves your company before going through the technical training, we will simply set out to find another recruit, with no additional cost involved. You will still owe only the remaining payments.

If a recruit leaves after the technical training (but before your 24 months are complete), we will start the process again, your monthly fee would remain the same (and end at the same time), but we would require an additional setup fee to start again.

For your benefit, and ours, we’ve designed our program to weed out anyone who isn’t likely to last at your company. Our testing process includes not just personality and aptitude testing, but an evaluation of how likely that person is to remain at your company for a year or more. We won’t recommend anyone who is unlikely to stay.

Can we put an existing employee into the Fast Track program?

We will accept existing employees into the program but we would put them through the same process as everyone else – background testing, profile testing (including personality, mechanical aptitude, cognitive reasoning, and likelihood of staying with your company), Career Development Training, detailed Career Path, coaching, reporting, etc.

If we do all those things (and we feel the recruit is qualified), we would actually treat him or her as if we did the recruiting.

That means if he leaves before the technical training begins, we would set out to recruit a replacement at no additional cost to you.

The cost for the program would be the same whether you utilized the recruiting aspect or not.

Can our other employees participate in the Career Development webinars too?

Recruits are the only ones invited to the webinars, but anyone from your company can listen in. We do take roll and log the recruit’s attendance since we recommend including Webinar Training in the recruit’s Career Path. We would not keep track of any other employee’s participation.

Will you run the “for hire” ads and pay for the ads?

Yes. We’re responsible for finding suitable applicants.

Does the training focus more on maintenance or service?

Both HVAC and plumbing include training on maintenance and service.

Is the HVAC class “brand specific”?

While most of the equipment used for training is made by Lennox, the class is not brand specific. Recruits learn the basic fundamentals that apply to every brand (heat transfer, physics, math, electrical, etc.).

How much focus is on A/C vs. Gas Furnace vs. Heat Pump?

Then main focus of the class is on A/C and gas heat, but there is still a significant amount of time spent on heat pumps, both in the classroom and in the lab.

Do you limit participation to one company per metro area?

No, there is no geographic exclusivity.
